The Melbourne-born festival returns to Flemington in February, bringing together some of the biggest names in alternative rock, pop and electronic music.

Laneway Festival has unveiled its 2027 lineup, with Fontaines D.C., Hayley Williams and Slayyyter leading a 32-act bill spanning alternative rock, underground pop, electronic music and a new generation of emerging artists.

Returning for its 22nd year, Laneway will bring its touring festival to Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland across February, with next year’s edition marking the return of several international acts alongside a sizeable contingent of Australian and New Zealand artists.

For Melbourne, the festival returns to Flemington Park on Friday 19 February, with a lineup that brings together established international names and artists making their mark across the alternative and electronic scenes.

Fontaines D.C. and Hayley Williams lead the bill

Dublin’s Fontaines D.C. return to Laneway for the first time in four years, stepping up to the main stage following their continued rise as one of the defining bands in contemporary post-punk.

The group will perform an extended headline set, with new music from their forthcoming fifth album, Dopamine Chamber, expected to feature alongside material from their existing catalogue.

Joining them is Hayley Williams, best known as the frontwoman of Paramore, who will bring The Hayley Williams Show to Australia for her first festival appearances as a solo artist.

The announcement follows the release of her solo album Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party and her upcoming Australian headline performances. Her Laneway appearance offers audiences a different setting to experience her work outside Paramore.

The festival’s other major pop draw is Slayyyter, who returns to Australia after a recent run of shows, this time making her Laneway debut. She’s joined by fellow pop artists Kim Petras, ADÉLA and MUNA, alongside British singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri.

Electronic music, alternative rock and emerging artists

Beyond its headline names, Laneway’s 2027 lineup continues its mix of established acts and artists operating across the more experimental edges of contemporary music.

Electronic music features prominently, with Australian producer Ninajirachi returning after appearing as a DJ at the 2025 festival. She’s joined by HorsegiirL, Rommulas, Danny L Harle, Jane Remover, Daine, Tiffany Day and 1TBSP, alongside DJ_Dave.

The alternative and guitar-driven contingent includes shoegaze outfit DIIV, art-punk band Automatic, New Zealand duo Balu Brigada and American rapper Rico Nasty.

There’s also a strong showing from emerging Irish and Australasian artists, including Bleech 9:3, Florence Road and Gurriers, as well as Australian acts Ecca Vandal, Public Figures, Swapmeet and Trials.

Violet Grohl, the musician and daughter of Dave Grohl, also joins the bill, adding another name to a lineup that moves between established international acts and artists at earlier stages of their careers.

Laneway 2027 dates and venues

The 2027 festival will take place across four cities, with Sydney opening the run before Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland.

  • Sydney: Friday 12 February — Centennial Park
  • Brisbane: Saturday 13 February — Brisbane Showgrounds
  • Melbourne: Friday 19 February — Flemington Park
  • Auckland: Sunday 21 February — Western Springs

All Australian events are 16+, while Auckland is 18+.

The 2027 schedule is a reduced run compared with previous years, with Adelaide and Perth sitting out next year’s festival. Organisers have described the decision as a pause, citing the logistical demands of staging multiple events across Australia and New Zealand in a short period.

Fans in both cities will still have opportunities to catch selected artists, with Fontaines D.C., Jane Remover and Tiffany Day among the acts announced for associated headline shows.
