Melbourne is getting a taste of Los Angeles this week, with the LA Rams bringing a free three-day fan experience to Crown Riverwalk ahead of the NFL’s first-ever regular-season game in Australia.
Rams House: The LA Tailgate Experience will run from Thursday 10 to Saturday 12 September, combining live music, sporting legends, screenings and entertainment across three days on the Yarra River.
The entertainment line-up is led by DJ Small Fry aka Tash Sultana, who will perform live on Saturday night at 7pm.
The Stafford Brothers will take over Friday evening with a live performance at 6:30pm, while the Los Angeles Rams Mariachi Band will bring some Mexican-inspired LA flavour to the event on Thursday night.
Music is only part of the programme, with fans also getting the chance to meet former Rams stars Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce, as well as Rampage, the team’s mascot.
The main sporting attraction will be a live screening of Los Angeles Rams vs San Francisco 49ers on Friday morning. The game will be shown from The Deck presented by Microsoft Surface, which will sit above a 22-yard floating football field on the Yarra River.
Friday’s programme will continue with a post-game show hosted by former AFL star Nick Riewoldt and sports commentator Kane Cornes.
There will also be plenty of Australian and American sporting personalities across the three days, including Rams President Kevin Demoff, play-by-play announcer J.B. Long and Eddie McGuire.
Saturday will round out the experience with a screening of Matthew Stafford: Locked In before Tash Sultana takes to the stage at 7pm.
The Rams say the event is designed to bring together football, music and LA culture as the city prepares for the historic NFL game.
Best of all, Rams House is completely free and open to the public.
